Visitor services storage shed completed

Volunteers Doug Miller and John Spallone

Visitor Services and Education Programs storage shed refurbishing has been completed. Work was completed by project leader Charlie Ellin, Back Bay NW Refuge Society board member and volunteers, Doug Miller, John Spallone, Chris Elam and Tallis Elam. Erica Ryder, Visitor Services Specialist, Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge was the refuge project coordinator. Funding for materials were provided by the society and paint was provided by the refuge. All work was completed by volunteers.

The storage shed located adjacent to the Visitor Center houses the equipment for visitor services and education programs.  The shed is approximately 20 years old and is structurally sound but water intrusion rotted out much of the sheathing and the doors were barely functional. In addition to exterior refurbishing, interior workbench and loft were modified, and storage for surf fishing rods was added.
